In 2010, BorgWarner will provide turbocharger and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valves for various cars and light commercial vehicles manufactured by China FAW Group Corporation.
In a statement, BorgWarner stated that turbocharger and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) technology will help China First Automobile Group Company meet the China IV emission standard, which is equivalent to Euro 4 emission standards.
“In China, increasingly stringent emission regulations are driving the trend towards smaller gasoline turbocharged gasoline engines. Vehicles will be more fuel efficient, more environmentally friendly, and more powerful.†BorgWarner Turbo & Emissions Systems President and General Manager Roger Wood stated on a company-issued material.
The BorgWarner turbocharger will be installed on FAW's recently developed 1.3-liter and 2.0-liter gasoline engines for the compact and midsize sedan series. BorgWarner will also provide an exhaust gas recirculation valve to the 3.0-liter diesel power unit used by FAW for a three-ton light commercial vehicle.
BorgWarner said that all three engines meet Euro 4 and 4 emission standards.
The above products will be provided by BorgWarner's factory in Ningbo, a port city in eastern China.
