Daqing Petrochemical's butyl octanol plant is the only domestic carbonyl synthesis gas-phase recycle unit. In recent years, the demand for isobutylaldehyde in the market has gradually increased, its price has exceeded the price of isobutanol, and the price difference has remained above 500 yuan/ton. Isobutanol is produced from isobutyraldehyde through hydrogenation, purification and separation of isomers. During the production process, raw hydrogen is consumed and steam, water and other energy are wasted, resulting in high cost and low profit.

In order to ensure that the system is operating in the best condition, the company's technical personnel will promptly master the laboratory analysis data, according to the decreasing trend of triphenylphosphine content in the reactor and the effect of the system reaction, adding the triphenylphosphine catalyst to the reactor. The product yields n-butyraldehyde. At the same time, according to the operation of the modelless control software, it is often communicated with the software manufacturers, and the operating parameters are changed in time to make the device run to the best condition.

After scientific demonstration by the technicians, the company actively optimized the process to separate the butanol production cycle from the isobutanol isomers column, and instead directly separated the n-isobutyraldehyde, and the n-butanal was directly hydrogenated to obtain the final product n-butanol. The isobutyraldehydes isolated from the isomeric tower are delivered directly from the factory, which not only meets the market demand, but also achieves the purpose of cost reduction and efficiency increase. In order to guarantee the excellent product rate of butanol and achieve high production and low consumption, the company optimized the production cycle of butanol in time, increased the reflux of the distillation tower from the original 19 tons/hour to the current 21 tons/hour, and made the product purity from 99.55% increased to 99.7%.
