Wuzhong teamed up with Tsinghua to develop billion yuan worth of machine tools

On July 14th, Wuzhong Group and Tsinghua University signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop domestic high-end gantry machine tool equipment with independent intellectual property rights. This is the first single machine tool worth over 100 million yuan in China.

It is reported that the equipment system consists of high-precision double gantry machine tools, a number of processing stations and Other auxiliary equipment. The two gantry machines have the same structure and share the same bed and work bench. Its processing objects are various types of complex workpieces and have functions such as five-axis linkage, automatic detection, tool presetting, automatic tool change and tool setting, and safety protection.

All new machine tools have stringent requirements, and their machining accuracy is 10 times that of automotive products. Two years ago, Wuzhong had already started to track the project. In the competitive bidding process, Wu Chi was able to win the competition with a number of well-known manufacturers in China.
