Ulstein launches new drilling ship

The Norwegian shipbuilding company Ulstein Group has recently launched a new design for drilling vessels and special vessels.

Recently, the company launched the new DP3 specification drilling ship "GWR-D1" design through the "2015 OTC (Offshore Technology Conference 2015)" held in Houston, USA.

The GWR-D1 ship-type drilling ship has a length, width and depth of 283.5m, 49.5m and 27m respectively. It can accommodate about 220 people. The maximum working depth is 12,000 feet. The maximum drilling depth is 40,000 feet. The capacity is 30,000 barrels and the storage capacity is about 730,000 barrels (almost the Suez-type tanker capacity level).

On the same day, the company also introduced a new DP3 heavy lift vessel "HX103" and "HX104" design. The captain, width and depth of the HX103 ship are 146m, 32m and 11.2m respectively. The design draft is 7m and the speed is 12 knots. It can accommodate about 350 people. It is equipped with a main crane with a fishing capacity of 1,000 tons and 50 tons. And Deck Crane.

In addition, the HX104 ships have a length, width and depth of 174m, 36m and 11.2m respectively. The design draught is 7m and the speed is 13 knots. It can accommodate about 500 people and has a salvage capacity of 2,000 tons.
