According to the US Detroit News Network on June 3, a General Motors dealer in Arkansas, USA, filed a claim with GM because of the "high security risk" of its GM. These stock vehicles also include vehicles other than those affected by the general ignition switch recall event.
On May 23, the Nettleton car sales company filed a lawsuit against General Motors on behalf of GM's other car dealers in the federal court in Little Rock, Arkansas, asking GM to make genuinely punitive damages. On Monday, GM disclosed the news in a bankruptcy court in Manhattan.
Nettleton said that before this year, GM had been deliberately concealing the defects of its ignition switch. General Motors, based in Detroit, has recalled 2.59 million problem cars and replaced the ignition switch. Prior to this, 13 people died as a result of this defect. A defect in its ignition switch shuts off engine power and prevents the airbag from opening.
“The plaintiff believes that some of the GMs that were affected by the recall also have the same or similar ignition switch problems as the recalled vehicles.†For the recall list, Nettleton said. According to the plaintiff's lawsuit, there will be other general vehicles will be added to the vehicle compensation list.
