Mann delivers the 1000th supercharger

Recently, Mann Diesel and Turbo announced that the company has delivered its 1000th supercharger to the two-stage supercharged engine.
Mann delivers the 1000th supercharger
Mann Diesel & Turbo has a long history of manufacturing two-stage superchargers, and the first evaluation of the two-stage supercharger dates back to the 1970s. At the end of 2000, Mann was committed to improving its four-stroke engine combination technology and developed the Mann ECOCHARGE supercharger, a supercharger that combines low pressure and high pressure stages with intercooling that significantly improves engine performance.
In May 2016, Mann Diesel & Turbo reported that the company sold its 1000th second-stage supercharger.
It is reported that the principle of the ECOCHARGE supercharger is optimally combined with the low pressure supercharger - usually TCA or TCR supercharger - and the newly developed TCX series high pressure stage. Both the TCA series supercharger and the TCR series supercharger have been field tested and can be expanded to 7,000 to 10,000 engines.
The Mann ECOCHARGE supercharger will provide significant benefits to the engine manufacturer. Compared with the single-stage supercharger, the boosting efficiency will be increased, mainly involving the intercooler, which is positioned between the low-pressure stage and the high-pressure stage supercharger, thereby greatly reducing the energy required for compressing the high-pressure intake air. Achieving a higher impact on the engine by adding air pressure to the cylinder during the scavenging process achieves higher efficiency.
In addition, greater boost efficiency will reduce NOx emissions through the Miller cycle, while improving engine fuel efficiency through the ECOCHARGE booster, providing improved scavenging efficiency.
The higher power density produced by the ECOCHARGE supercharger will provide an opportunity to maintain good engine performance from start to finish between significantly increasing engine power and reducing engine size. The increased efficiency and single-cylinder power rating of the ECOCHARGE supercharger will enable a smaller engine to produce the same power as a larger engine with a conventional, single-stage boost.
The Mann ECOCHARGE supercharger has been used in several new four-stroke engines, such as the 12- or 20-cylinder V-type 32/44 CR TS engine and the V-type S35/44G TS engine that can also rely on gas-fired operation.
