LED capacity expansion accelerated, and related product prices fell significantly
Domestic LED production capacity is expanding rapidly, and the industry is generally large but not strong. China's LED chip products are still mainly used in the low-end market such as display screens and light strips. Although the demand in the low-end market is strong, the demand growth is far lower than the growth of capacity. The oversupply leads to the rapid decline of LED chips. In 2012, the average price of domestic LED chips dropped by 32 from the previous year. Due to the continuous decline in prices, the net profit margin of the LED chip industry was a breakeven or even a loss. The upstream industry entered the survival of the fittest in advance. The mid-stream package still maintains a normal gross profit margin. In 2012, the average price of domestic white-light packaged devices dropped by more than 30, but the 2835 medium-power products still had a relatively high gross profit margin of around 30, which became the main profit growth point for packaging companies.
