· China will become the world's largest automotive aftermarket in 2015

On May 16, the “China Automotive Aftermarket 2013 Development Forum” hosted by China Automotive Parts Industry Corporation was held in Kunshan.

Leaders and experts from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the China International Chamber of Commerce, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, as well as representatives from domestic and foreign auto parts companies and financial institutions, gathered in-depth discussions on the status quo of China's automotive aftermarket. Problems and their solutions and related policies.

China's automotive aftermarket has just started small

Huang Yonghe, chief expert of China Automotive Technology and Research Center, gave a speech on the theme of “Developing the automobile aftermarket and promoting the upgrading of the industrial chain”.

“In general, within the life cycle of each vehicle, its cost of use is about 2-3 times the price of the car. Therefore, the aftermarket is the most stable source of profit in the automobile industry chain, accounting for the total profit of the automobile industry chain. 60% to 70%. Therefore, the automotive aftermarket is also referred to as the 'golden industry'." Huang Yonghe said.

In promoting employment, Huang Yonghe takes Japan as an example: In 2010, Japan’s automobile-related employment accounted for 8.5% of Japan’s total employed population, including the automobile use department, sales and maintenance department, and other related departments. 80% of the relevant employment population. ”

Ning Xiaoyang, chief engineer of China Auto Parts Industry Co., Ltd. and president of China Automotive United Auto Parts Chain Co., Ltd., pointed out that China's automotive aftermarket business is still in its infancy, similar to the level of the United States in the 1980s.

Compared with the foreign mature automobile aftermarket, the scale of China's automobile aftermarket and the proportion of the entire automobile industry are obviously small. In addition, China's automotive aftermarket still has problems such as inadequate service model, imperfect standard regulations, unreasonable service network layout, low industry entry barriers, lack of effective supervision and correct guidance by the government.

Chain operation or maintenance and maintenance of mainstream business

Overall, China's automotive aftermarket has great potential for development. Some experts predict that the scale of China's automotive aftermarket will surpass that of the United States in 2015, becoming the world's largest aftermarket.

In his speech, Ning Xiaoyang also predicted that with the gradual maturity of consumers, increasingly supportive policies and the influx of more new companies, China’s automotive aftermarket and other related business scales will also erupt, to 2015. The previous annual growth rate will reach 24%.

Ning Xiaoyang mentioned that according to statistics, the average age of Chinese passenger cars is about 3 years, and it is expected to reach about 6 years in 2020. At that time, it will begin to enter the peak period of bicycle maintenance costs; with the quantity and age of the car Growth, it is expected that China's after-sales spare parts market will reach 520 billion yuan in 2020.

As far as the maintenance and repair of the automotive aftermarket is concerned, the current automotive repair and spare parts-related business in China mainly focuses on 4S shops and manufacturers' designated maintenance points, with warranty and extended warranty as important means of obtaining customers. The maintenance and repair market is extremely fragmented, among which the fast repair and maintenance chain stores are growing rapidly, and other formats will be weakened, especially the roadside fast repair shops.

At present, the US auto service chain business accounts for more than 80% of the entire after-sales market, while the 4S shop service system only accounts for 20% of the market. Ning Xiaoyang speculated: "If we learn from the post-market development experience of the United States, China's auto repair and maintenance market integration may begin soon, and specialized chain operation services will develop rapidly and gradually become the mainstay of the market."

Ning Xiaoyang analyzed that the chain business model has five advantages: scale effect, standardization and transparency, precise market segmentation, brand effect and value-added services. At present, one-stop supermarkets and small specialty stores are relatively successful chain business models in China's auto repair and spare parts market.

Insufficient talent pool is a key factor restricting the development of the auto repair industry. We should actively consider how to establish our own training base or establish cooperation with manufacturers.

Lack of laws and regulations restricting the development of modified cars and car rentals

Ning Zhenxing, executive director of the China Post-Marketing Association's Reconstruction Branch, expressed his concern about the parts and components of the modified car market in his speech on the theme of “high-end brand car upgrade and customization plan”. He called on the government to formulate corresponding laws and regulations as soon as possible. Aftermarket refit standardization.

It is reported that automobile modification is an important part of the automotive aftermarket. At present, the automobile modification in China is still mainly based on the production of deep processing and trade-type modification. The market share of consumer-oriented modification for user demand is only 10%, and the current road traffic Regulations have a small scope for consumer-style installations, market supervision is difficult, and the possibility of introducing regulations in the short term is also small.

Ning Zhenxing expects that consumer-type installations will remain at the edge of existing laws for at least three years.

Yang Jisheng, general manager of Zhongjin Automobile Trade Services Co., Ltd. also pointed out in his speech on "The current status and trends of the current domestic car rental industry", the relevant policies were issued but the regulations are still not matched, and it has become a bottleneck restricting the development of China's car rental industry. one.
